The BAU team must catch a sniper who preys on victims in the middle of the day.
The peace of a sunny afternoon in Franklin Public Park, Des Plaines, Illinois, is shattered when three people are shot at long-range by an unidentified gunman the third such incident in two weeks.
How many of these guys have we caught using a profile? wonders Elle, when the BAU are informed.
Gideons answer is not encouraging: None.
The problem is that shooters of this type the preferred term being Long Distance Serial Killer, or LDSK are so rare that there is not yet a standard profile.
But none of the victims saw their assailant; and there is no ballistics evidence, as the shooter uses bullets which fragment on impact.
On the way to Des Plaines, Hotch briefs the team on what they do know.
