FemaleFirst got the opportunity to speak to WWE bad girl and Diva, Eva Marie in a new and exclusive interview where she talks taking out Nikki Bella, being a star we all love to hate and more.

Eva Marie

Have you always been a woman who likes to put on a show?

Absolutely! I am the youngest of three brothers so was constantly trying to upstage them all the time growing up, so that’s why being a WWE Diva is so fitting for me.

What is it about the world of WWE that appeals to you most?

Not only does being a professional athlete appeal to me but all of the outreach programmes we get to do. I never thought in a million years that I would get to experience working with the Special Olympics, I got to build a playground at WrestleMania for KaBOOM!, I’m involved in hired heroes which is another organization that’s so amazing and I get to speak to all of these veterans that were in the military.

My biggest Diva moment was truly getting to go to Afghanistan with three other Divas and Superstars, as well as Vince McMahon, to give my thanks to all of the military and what they do. What job do you get that level of fulfillment?

Can you walk us through your reaction when you signed for the WWE?

When I got the call I was in my car and I literally screamed and cried at the ceiling. I remember that moment as clear as day. Then I called my mum, as I was so ecstatic that I didn’t believe it was happening. I felt like I was in a dream.

It all happened so fast. I got the call on the Saturday and then I was on the plane to New York for WrestleMania on the Monday. My life just changed that quickly.

Do you find it fun playing a bad girl?

Absolutely, everyone loves a bad girl! To me that’s what’s amazing about being a WWE Diva in that you get to be whatever character you want to be and for me being a bad girl is the easiest.

The show has only been in the UK for a few weeks but it’s proving really popular, what is it about the show that makes it so successful with such a wide audience?

I think it’s really popular because this is the first reality show ever to show a backstage peek into what it’s like to be a WWE Diva or Superstar. We open up at WrestleMania, which is the Superbowl of Wrestling and nobody has ever seen what it’s like to be behind the scenes at a WrestleMania event and for women it shows that we’re professional athletes.

That alone is very gruelling on anybody, to be travelling and performing day in and day out. This is the first time the audience gets to see a sneak peek into both our professional life and our personal life and I don’t think there’s another show like that.

You mentioned WrestleMania, you made your debut there this year. How much did you enjoy that experience?

To be a part of a WrestleMania is so amazing, it’s the biggest show that we put on besides SummerSlam.

For me it was the best feeling because I got to share it with not only other cast mates from Total Divas but it was the entire Diva locker room so it was a nice moment for all of us to be together.

I’m excited also because WrestleMania XXXI is going to be in the Bay Area of San Francisco which is my hometown so I’m super excited for that one.

SummerSlam is always amazing because it’s in LA and you know I am a California girl so it’s always fun to be back there.

You talked about some of your locker room friends there, so let’s talk about Nikki Bella. You were her ally not so long ago but you recently took her out in a six-on-one handicap match. What were your feelings going into that match?

As much as I wanted to be her ally, at the end of the day we are performers and entertainers and for me I love being the bad girl so I was actually excited to make that turn.

You’ve got a few signature moves, but what is your favourite and who do you hope to be delivering it to next?

You know what I haven’t even shown my finisher yet on TV so I’m excited to debut that. I wouldn’t mind putting it on Natalya just because she likes to talk a lot of smack.

When do you think you’ll be in the frame to take the Diva’s Championship home?

I hope sooner rather than later. I’m hoping it’s going to happen in the next couple of months, but that’s just me. I’m saving it up for something big so hopefully that will happen sometime after SummerSlam.

SummerSlam is going to be amazing. The storyline with that, Stephanie McMahon going up against Brie Bella, is so exciting.

Total Divas continues at 6pm, Sundays on E!
