With Fear The Walking Dead's second season just on the viranda, we've decided to take a look back at the show's first outing to see where we left things off, what happened to our main characters and more.

Spinning off from original series and comic book series The Walking Dead, this new AMC show was going to go back right to the very point of the virus outbreak which would see the dead rise up once more, hungry for flesh. With a whole cast of new characters, a different location and a literal restart, the series had a lot to live up to and major expectations.

Viewers got the opportunity with this series to see how the world reacted in real-time to the virus outbreak, leading to some incredible moments we've actually not yet been witness to in a Walking Dead series.

Los Angeles quickly turned from its usual calm demeanor to a city in turmoil, locked down by authorities and being dealt with in a way that made everybody at home wince. SWAT team members were on hand to take down anybody rising from their graves and it was a welcome change of scenery.

Once a washed-up junkie, Nick (Frank Dillane) had cleaned up his act by force by the end of the first season, whilst Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) started to find her feet in the new world following the death of her boyfriend. Chris (Lorenzo James Henrie) continued to boil over with resentment towards his father and the shock death of his mother (Elizabeth Rodriguez) in the final episode surely won't help matters.

Eventually escaping to Strand's (Colman Domingo) gorgeous beach home, we saw the man himself along with the Clark/Manawa family and surviving members of the Salazar family (Ofelia and Daniel played by Mercedes Mason and Rubén Blades respectively) settling down - but it wasn't to be for long.

Strand made his plan clear - they'd be going out to sea to survive. Their new life on the water is exactly where we're going to be picking things up when Fear The Walking Dead returns.

But what have we seen of our main characters so far?

Nick has an addictive personality but a willingness to change his ways for the betterment of himself and survival of those closest to him. Alicia meanwhile is easily led and emotional at times, but not afraid to kick some ass if she really needs to.

Chris is an angry child who's set to get even angrier following the death of his beloved mother and his father, Travis is often slow to follow up on things, with a resentment towards the act of killing and using guns. Matriarch Madison (Kim Dickens) is just like her daughter in that she isn't afraid to get her hands dirty and at times looks to be the anchor for the entire family, despite the disdain shown towards her by Chris.

Ofelia we don't know much about other than she has problems in the ways her father deals with things and the man himself, Daniel is willing to do whatever it takes to ensure the safety of his loved ones.

Then there's Strand. We actually don't know very much about Strand but what's obvious is that the man has a lot of secrets. Exactly why he decided to help out this bunch of survivors is yet to be seen but we imagine his story is an intriguing one set to be explored throughout season 2.

Fear The Walking Dead returns for season 2 on Sunday, April 10 at 9/8c on AMC in the US. The season will also air on AMC UK exclusive to BT TV customers in the UK.
