'X Factor' stripper Amie Buck said becoming an erotic dancer gave her the confidence to enter the show.
The 22 year-old beauty - who appeared shy during her audition and burst into tears after judges didn't like her rendition of Alisha Keys' 'Fallin' - said she had originally been too afraid to even sing in front of her own father.
She claims she only got the confidence to enter 'The X Factor' after becoming a stripper at the Blue Velvet club in Newcastle and creating an on-stage persona she could hide behind.
I've got brains and beauty. I've got my own business and I paid for my qualifications with the money I made. I feel much better now. I'm more confident and happy in my own skin.
Amie said: "I'm, not ashamed. It's not seedy or demeaning.
"I wanted to audition for 'The X Factor' for years. Dancing gave me confidence. I started working at Blue Velvet 12 months ago and earlier this year I finally felt brave enough to audition."
Since becoming a stripper, Amie said she earns up to £600 a night and her profits have enabled her to buy a car, a breast enlargement operation and college courses which have helped her start up her own personal training business.
Amie - who didn't reveal her night-time job to the show's judges - added: "I've got brains and beauty. I've got my own business and I paid for my qualifications with the money I made. I feel much better now. I'm more confident and happy in my own skin."
