Carol Vorderman claims she was turned down for her first television job because her breasts weren't big enough.

The 'Countdown' star says bosses were not impressed with her chest when she auditioned for the BBC during the early 80s.

Carol told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "One of the then bosses sat there, looked me up and down and said: 'Your t*ts aren't big enough to work in television, sorry love!' And that was that."

But she didn't let the comments deter her and later landed her role on the long-running Channel 4 game show.

She says she is now happy with the way she looks after learning to accept her body.

The 46-year-old added: "I'll never be one of those so-called 'lollipop ladies' with a huge head and a stick-thin body. Now I'm in my 40s I think, 'Why should I beat myself up?'"
