Chantelle Houghton is addicted to fake tan.

The former 'Celebrity Big Brother' winner - who split from The Ordinary Boys frontman Samuel Preston after 10 months of marriage in June - says covering herself in the lotion makes her feel better about the bitter divorce battle she is currently going through.

She said: "I think tanning is all just part of the cover-up at the moment. All the make-up is a barrier. I don't want to be orange, but I need to go on holiday to get a natural tan. I know I look really orange now, but I'd rather be orange than really pale.

"When I was with Preston I wasn't allowed on sunbeds. If I did, all hell would break loose. In the end, it was such an ordeal that I just didn't even bother. I felt as if I wasn't allowed my make-up and my fake tan."

Chantelle - who recently transformed her appearance with hair dye and breasts implants - also said she found it difficult to cope with Preston's "moaning".

She told Britain's Heat magazine: "One day I came home from work starving. I didn't care what I ate so I got some frozen chips out of the freezer and some Quorn chicken nugget things. Preston said, 'You do know that's frozen food?' I knew it was but I was just so hungry.

"As I started eating he was saying, 'You know there's no green there, there's no green there - it's all beige.' He kept on and on and in the end I threw all the dinner in the bin. I couldn't deal with him moaning on anymore."
