Denise Van Outen once had a "massive crush" on Des O'Connor.
The blonde beauty admits says she was inspired to become a TV presenter by the 76-year-old 'Countdown' host.
She said: "Des is one of the main reasons I became a TV presenter. He was my TV idol. I had a massive crush on him!"
Denise, 33, also hit back at Hollywood star Kevin Spacey for his recent criticism of BBC talent shows including 'I'd Do Anything', on which she is a judge, which searches for the new Oliver and Nancy for a production of hit musical 'Oliver!'
Kevin, the artistic director at London's Old Vic theatre, claimed the shows amounted to "free advertising", but Denise hit back: "I think it was unfair to say that and it's easy to be negative towards this type of programme if you are not involved with it.
"It's a positive thing for the theatre in general. I've got friends that would now go to theatre but would never have gone before because they've been introduced to it from television."
