She said: "There are several people I'm going to be sad to say goodbye to. I already miss my pet dog Betty dreadfully!"

Her character Pauline, who has been shunned by friends and family for pretending to have a brain tumour, is set to meet a lonely end next week.

She will collapse and die alone in the middle of Albert Square on Christmas Day.
