'EastEnders' Tric triumph

'EastEnders' was the big winner at yesterday's (11.03.08) Television Radio and Industries Club awards.The BBC1 show was named Soap of the Year during the ceremony at London's Grosvenor House, while 'Coronation Street' actress Kym Ryder won Best Soap Star.But it was 'Holby City' actress Patsy Kensit who stole the show, turning up in a revealing black dress which left little to the imagination.Patsy was there to present the prize for TV Drama Programme of the Year to BBC1 serial Cranford.Fiona Bruce was named Newscaster of the Year while 'Antiques Roadshow' - which she will start presenting later this year - won the Special Award.'Strictly Come Dancing' was named as Reality Programme of the Year, with the award being accepted by the show's co-host Tess Daly.Chef Gordon Ramsay won TV Personality of the Year while Chris Moyles' BBC Radio 1 breakfast show won Radio Programme of the Year.

However, his breakfast show rival, Capital FM's Johnny Vaughan, beat him to the Radio Personality award.

'Life On Mars' was named TV Crime Programme of the Year and 'Top Gear' won Entertainment Programme of the Year.

Other winners included Sky News presenter Eamonn Holmes and 'A Question of Sport' host Sue Barker.

The Television And Radio Industries Club (Tric) was founded in 1931 to promote goodwill among those working in the media.
