Kate Ritchie will leave 'Home and Away' in May after 20 years on the show. The 29-year-old actress - who, along with cast mate Ray Meagher, holds the Guinness World Record for the continuous role in an Australian drama series - will appear in her last scenes on the show on May 13.Kate said: "Sally is my best friend. I didn't really realise how much I'd miss her until I decided to leave. But I can't pretend to be her any more. It's been a fantastic experience, but now I think I might be ready to look past that."In order to grow creatively you need to spread your wings. While the public might have me typecast, I know in my heart I'm not just that little girl who grew up on 'Home and Away'."In her final episodes, Sally is overwhelmed when her friends and family in Summer Bay throw her a farewell concert. However, in traditional 'Home and Away' fashion, nothing goes smoothly, and Sally comes home from the concert to find she has been burgled. Tim Worner, the director of programming and production at Australia's Seven network, said he was feeling emotional about Kate leaving. He said: "It almost feels like she's moving out of home, so from that angle there is some sorrow, but we are also genuinely excited for her as well."0Comments | Be the first to comment!
