GRAMMAR HAUNTED BY SISTER'S MURDER

Actor KELSEY GRAMMAR blamed himself for his sister's brutal murder - even though he was living on the other side of the country.

The FRASIER star took on the mantle as head of his family at a young age and became a father figure to his sister KAREN, so he couldn't forgive himself when she was abducted, raped and stabbed to death at the age of 17.

The 49-year-old says, "I felt an incredible sense of responsibility for her death. She was 2,000 miles (3,200 kilometres) away from me, yet we were very close, so a great deal of my self-loathing or guilt was triggered by that.

"It's something that still resonated deeply for me and it took me years to forgive myself for that."
