Kim Cattrall has been signed up to promote a new range of low-calorie rum cocktails.The 'Sex and the City' star, who played raunchy PR boss Samantha Jones in the hit TV series, will appear in a set of adverts as the new face of Bacardi's Island Breeze cocktails.She said: "I have always enjoyed cocktails socially, but I have been conscious of both the calories and drinking in moderation."But a spirit with great taste and half the calories of wine and traditional spirits - what took so long?"That is why I agreed to endorse Island Breeze. It is the first 'lite' spirit. Now, I can have great tasting, lighter cocktails that are low in calories. Now that's sexy."The 48-year-old actress, famed for her raunchy TV sex scenes and on-screen bedroom gymnastics with a string of younger lovers, is currently treading the boards on London's West End stage.Bacardi's development chairman, Alfredo Piedra, said the star was approached to front the drink because of her feisty go-getting image which the company hoped she would bring to the brand.He said: "We believe Kim will help do for Island Breeze what 'Sex and the City' did for the cosmopolitan cocktail.
"She is the perfect example of a strong, independent woman who lives life to the full. She is an icon; a powerful, 'Gets what she wants' kind of woman that both adult men and women can relate to."
