Phillip Schofield has been holding a vigil by his "very ill" father's bedside. The 'Dancing On Ice' host had been dashing from his hosting duties on the ITV ice-skating competition to be with his 72-year-old father Brian, who left London's Royal Brompton Hospital on Friday (15.02.08) after weeks of care. While Brian was being treated for the mystery illness, father-of-two Phillip was determined to be with him as much as possible.A hospital insider said: "It has been heart-warming to see Phillip caring for his dad. It's really an inspiration. "One minute he'd be giving a flawless performance on 'Dancing On Ice' and 40 minutes later he'd be climbing into a put-up bed by his dad's side. It's obvious they share a deep bond."Brian is now being cared for by his family in the Oxfordshire house he shares with his 71-year-old wife Pat. A spokesperson for the 'This Morning' host said: "Phillip's father has been very ill. The family have been with him constantly and he is now home."Phillip has now taken compassionate leave from hosting 'This Morning' this week.
It is unclear whether he will present 'Dancing On Ice' on Saturday (23.02.08).
