A 'Top of the Pops' presenter has been accused of mocking a band's size. Pop stars The Magic Numbers stormed out of rehearsals for the BBC show claiming TV host Richard Bacon called them fat.Bacon had said the rockers - who are among a host of stars nominated for this year's prestigious Mercury Prize for music - had been put in a "fat melting pot of talent".The musicians, who were at the BBC to perform their new track 'Love Me Like You', walked out in protest after hearing the presenter's "derogatory, unfunny remarks".The angry band told fans on their website they are sure of their decision to walk out.A message on the site reads: "We didn't take this decision lightly but we stand by it."A BBC spokesman said Bacon - who used to present long-running show 'Blue Peter' - had used to word "fat" as "as a figure of speech referring to the band's status".He added: "Richard was mortified".
