Sid Owen's Ricky return

'EastEnders' star Sid Owen is set to join Patsy Palmer in a sensational return to Albert Square.The soap star has signed up to reprise his role as mechanic Ricky Butcher, the former husband of Patsy's feisty Bianca Jackson.Sid, 35, said: "I'm over the moon they've asked me to come back. It will be interesting to see what has been happening to Ricky and Bianca over the last few years."Although, I must admit I'm not looking forward to her nagging me by shouting out 'Rickaaay' at him all the time!"The show's executive producer Diederick Santer added: "Ricky and Bianca were a hugely popular and well-loved partnership on the show. "They are both now living their own lives, and there has been a good deal of water under the bridge. But could the old spark reignite?" Ricky will return to Albert Square with a new fiancée, while Bianca is set to come back as a single mother with several children by different fathers.

Ricky and Bianca were last seen together in a one-off episode entitled 'EastEnders: Ricky and Bianca' in 2002.

The episode ended with Bianca dumping Ricky, leaving him heartbroken and having to care for their son Liam.

Sid first joined 'EastEnders' in 1988 and played Ricky for 12 years. He also made a two year comeback to Albert Square in 2002.
