Whitney Houston has reportedly been approached to star in 'Celebrity Big Brother'.
The controversial singer is the first star to be lined up for the new series of the show - which was axed in 2007 following Jade Goody and Shilpa Shetty's racism row and bought back in a new form entitled 'Big Brother: Celebrity Hijack' at the beginning of the year.
'Big Brother' producers, who are keen to return the celebrity version of the reality programme to its former glory, think 'I Will Always Love You' singer would be the perfect addition to the show.
A show insider told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "We are aiming high for the new series. We want top-notch stars, not Z-listers. And trust us, we will back with a bang in 2009."
Whitney is said to be considering the offer, and thinks it could tie in well with her career comeback.
The 45-year-old singer was one of the world's most famous musicians in the late 80s and early 90s, but her popularity started to decline after a series of problems in her personal life, including a divorce from R'n'B star Bobby Brown and reported drug use.
Following her admission to rehab centres in 2005 and 2006, Whitney is now hoping to get her career back on track, and is reportedly intending to launch a new album at Christmas.
