Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston of Breaking Bad

The Golden Globes took place in Beverly Hills last night, and saw some great winners from the world of television walk away with awards.

A great goodbye was said to long-running television series Breaking Bad, which ended in 2013 and received top awards for Best TV Drama and Best Lead Actor - Bryan Cranston's fourth nomination in the role and first win.

Thanking show creator Vince Gilligan, Bryan hailed him a "genius" and praised the co-stars who have worked on him throughout the five seasons.

Aaron Paul just missed out on the Best Supporting Actor accolade, but signed off when accepting for the main show with a "Yeah, bitch", throwing back to his character Jesse Pinkman.

House of Cards took home just one of the awards after leading the way with nominations, with Robin Wright taken Best Actress in a drama series, and new comedy show Brooklyn Nine-Nine impressed with two wins - Best Comedy or Musical Series and Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical Series, which Andy Samberg took home.

Robin Wright secured a Golden Globe for House of Cards
