Christmas adverts have become somewhat of a tradition, and now intu have decided to jump into the fray, this year releasing their first ever Christmas ad, hoping to spread a little festive cheer to those watching the small screen at home.

As the owner and manager of many of the UK's biggest and favourite shopping centres including the Trafford Centre, Metrocentre and Lakeside, intu will be airing their commercial both on television and online around the UK, tailoring the ads for regional networks.

Classic tune 'You Make Me Feel So Young' acts to set the scene, whilst shoppers are shown transforming into children as they enter the intu centres, enjoying their Christmas shopping in a childlike and mischievous way.

Taking two weeks to shoot, the filmmakers took to centres across the country and featured over 30 children aged between 2 and 9 years old.

Findings from intu's customer insights programme helped develop the campaign.

Commercial and digital director of intu, Trevor Pereira said: "Christmas is an important time in the retail calendar, and a very special time for people, family and friends. This is our very first national campaign as intu, and we wanted to show just how intrinsic our centres are to the lives of our customers during this important time of year.
