Netflix have this week officially announced the return of 13 Reasons Why, with season 2 set to drop on the streaming service on Friday, May 18, 2018. Not much has been revealed about the direction the story will be taking when the series does make its return, but a new synopsis has promised a whole bunch of new secrets set to be exposed.

Teasing the new batch of episodes, the new details reveal: “Season 2 picks up in the aftermath of Hannah’s death and the start of our characters’ complicated journeys toward healing and recovery. Liberty High prepares to go on trial, but someone will stop at nothing to keep the truth surrounding Hannah’s death concealed. A series of ominous polaroids lead Clay and his classmates to uncover a sickening secret and a conspiracy to cover it up.”

Now, as we know from the first season, there was one character in particular who liked playing with his polaroid camera: Tyler Down (Devin Druid). The youngster was also the victim of bullying at various points throughout the first season, and we even saw him collecting a huge amount of weaponry and ammunition in a chest in his bedroom. This chilling tease has led many to believe that he’s planning a school massacre, though nothing has been confirmed by anybody actually in the know.

Nothing in the new synopsis suggests that this is going to be the case in season 2, but it does look as though his polaroids could provide some answers as to a major “conspiracy” and “sickening secret” that still runs deep through Liberty High.

Despite her death in the first season, Hannah Baker (Katherine Langford) will be making her return in season 2, likely in a series of flashbacks. Langford’s comeback comes alongside that of Dylan Minnette as Clay Jensen, Christian Navarro as Tony Padilla, Alisha Boe as Jessica Davis, Brandon Flynn as Justin Foley, and Justin Prentice as Bryce Walker, amongst others.

This season, Netflix are taking every precaution to ensure their viewers can seek out advice in regards to the topics discussed and explored in the show. For more information, or for help and support, you can head to 13ReasonsWhy.info.
