BARBARA BROCCOLI OUTBIDS THE COMPETITION FOR A KISS WITH DANIEL CRAIG, HUGH GRANT AND ROBBIE COLTRANE

LONDON (Wednesday 18th June 2008): Last night, stars of the British Television and Movie industry teamed up to raise money for the The National Film and Television School.

The event raised £400,000, double the expected £200,000, although counting is still underway. One of the biggest selling lots of the night was a kiss with Daniel Craig, Hugh Grant and Robbie Coltrane which was snapped up by a very excited Barbara Broccoli for a cool £19,000.

The attendees at the event included 007’s own Daniel Craig, Hugh Grant, Lord Richard Attenborough, Christopher Lee, Rowan Atkinson, Liz Smith, Honor Blackman, Bill Nighy, Alan Rickman, Richard Curtis, Samantha Bond, Robbie Coltrane, Anne Robinson, Sam Taylor Wood, Tony Robinson and Claudia Winkleman.

The auction lots, included; the dinner jacket of the current James Bond, Daniel Craig, as worn in the casino scene of Casino Royale and signed by the actor which was sold for £9,500 and a rare, uncorrected proof of the very first JK Rowling novel, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, signed by the author, which was sold for £18,000.

Daniel Craig and Hugh Grant embarked on a ferocious bidding war, competing against each other for a selection of Harry Potter memorabilia. Daniel Craig eventually prevailed and claimed the items for £18,000.

Hugh Grant also put a £16,000 bid in for two walk-on parts in a Working Title film, but was outbid by the eventual winner who bought this lot for £18,000.
