My School Musical Final Draws Near

Over the past few months Disney Channels My School Musical has captured the imagination of kids across with the UK with a staggering five thousand entries submitted. With the finale now in close sight, viewers can vote for their favourite short-listed semi finalists from the 28th March until the 17th April with the final winners being announced on the channel on the 25th April.My School Musical has seen Disney Channel scour the UK for fresh and exciting new talent across three special categories singing, dancing and performance - all with a High School Musical twist. An astounding 5,820 video entries have been uploaded to the competitions dedicated microsite, www.myschoolmusical.co.uk where the best have been whittled down to three semi finalists per category. The channel has already seen over half a million kids vote for their favourites to get to the semi final stages.Now the final three semi finalists from each category will get to perform their act on Disney Channel. The final for the performance category will be tonight on 28th March, the singing category on 4th April, and the dancing category on the 11th April (at 4.50pm and repeated at 5.20pm). and viewers will have one week to vote for the final winner in each category, by registering their vote at www.myschoolmusical.co.ukThe overall winner in each category will be announced in a grand final, which will be broadcast on the channel on the 25th April, prior to the British television premiere of High School Musical 2: Dancealong. The channel will arrive on the doorstep of each winner with a crew to capture their reactions.My School Musical is presented by Brad Kavanagh from As the Bell Rings and Samantha Dorrance, winner of last years High School Musical: Youre the Star. The Rockettes are a five piece spinning and twirling majorette group from the Wirral who are all massive fans of High School Musical. Seven-year-old Millie is the team mascot and loves leading the rest of the group out onto the stage
12-year-old Banbury born Ella Popplewell loves balancing and heights quite a combination. Ella is skilled at balancing on balls, her skateboard and stilt walking. When Ella heard about My School Musical, she filmed her contribution and only told her parents when it came to uploading the video
16-year-old Louisa Sham from Bridgend, Wales entered My School Musical three times performing songs from High School Musical 2 on her flute. Louisas rendition of You Are the Music In Me was chosen for the public vote, resulting in her making it to the My School Musical competition
SINGING (from 4th April 10th April)
12-year-old London born Sacchi Sen comes from an extremely musical family and taught herself how to play the piano and sing. Her favourite song from High School Musical 2 is You are the Music In Me because of the lyrics and melody
It was Bryony Minneys eleventh birthday the day that she found out she had made the semi-finals and she said it was the best birthday present she had ever had! Welsh Bryony has sung since she was two and first sung in public at the age of nine in a school play
Alice Knibbs from Warwickshire is 16 years old and has been singing since the age of three and performing in musicals from primary school. In her words, she has been in all the choirs you could possible get in. She was shocked when she heard the news that she had made the semi-finals and has loved the whole experience of My School Musical
DANCING (from the 11th April 17th April)
Eve & Georgia is a two piece street dancing, fun loving group made up best friends from Kent. Both 11 years of age, the girls have been dancing for four years and their lucky mascot is a teddy bear that Eve bought for Georgia
Hampshire friends Lauren & Leah have been dancing for years but for only four months together. A great partnership developed quickly after their formation, and they have gone on to win lots of competitions together. The 12-year-old girls ambition is to land a leading role in the West End
10-year-old Aaron Watson from Norfolk is the only boy in the dancing category. His best achievement was dancing on stage for BAFTAs 60th birthday when he was chosen as the future Billy Elliot
