Brooke Vincent was the focus of a police investigation last week after they believed she had been kidnapped.
The 'Coronation Street' star was woken up by officers at her home in Manchester after a petrol station attendant called emergency services when they saw a woman screaming and being slapped before being bundled in the car and was convinced it was her.
A source told: "Brooke was happy to put the record straight it wasn't her. Police have to be careful in these cases. The attacker is often a boyfriend or husband and the victim can be too scared to tell the truth."
Police confirmed they had quizzed the 19-year-old actress last Thursday (12.04.12) and believe they are now dealing with a domestic assault as no one has been reported missing.
Brooke has portrayed Sophie Webster - the daughter of Sally and Kevin - in 'Coronation Street' since 2004 and was part of the first lesbian storyline in the ITV1 soap when she embarked on a relationship with pal Sian Powers (Sacha Parkinson).
