Former 'Doctor Who' star Caroline John has died.
Although the 72-year-old actress passed away on June 5, her death was only confirmed via an announcement on the official Doctor Who twitter account today (21.06.12).
The tweet said: "It's with great sadness that we confirm the death of Caroline John who played companion Liz Shaw in 1970. She passed away on the 5th June."
The funeral for British actress - who played assistant Liz Shaw opposite Jon Pertwee in the BBC series in 1970 and reprised her role in1983 - was held in south west London yesterday (20.06.12).
David Parkinson of Big Finish Productions paid tribute to the late star saying: "Carry was always delighted to return to Liz Shaw and reprised the role several times in our audio series 'Doctor Who: The Companion Chronicles'.
"She was a brilliant actress and a lovely, kind soul who was a joy to be around and who was interested in everyone. She will be greatly missed."
In recent years, Caroline appeared in episodes of 'Doctors', 'Midsomer Murders' and 'Silent Witness'.
