Greg James is to host a new 'Top of the Tops' style show.
The Radio 1 DJ - who used to date singer Ellie Goulding - will front BBC Three's 'The Hit Machine', which will be the first weekly prime-time music show since 'TOTP' ended in 2006.
A source told the Daily Star: "Viewers have been pining for a show like this. The music scene has never been bigger and in particular it's time to put pop acts back on prime time TV.
"Greg is hot property right now and will ensure the programme is credible with genuine music lovers."
The shows makers say Greg, 26, will present the biggest chart names, mixed in with celebrity guests and comedy stints.
Stars such as One Direction, The Wanted and Olly Murs are set to appear on the show and a pilot will be filmed at London's Teddington studios next month.
'Top of the Pops' aired from 1964 to 2006 and was hosted by the likes of the late Sir Jimmy Savile, Fearne Cotton and Reggie Yates.
