Matt Edmondson is engaged.

The T4 presenter - who is also known for his work on 'The Xtra Factor' in past seasons - is "delighted" his long-term girlfriend Bryony Emmett agreed to wed him after he proposed yesterday (16.05.12).

He wrote on twitter: "I liked it. So I put a ring on it. Yesterday I proposed to @BryonyEmmett and she said YES. I'm delighted!(sic)"

Bryony - who is a personal trainer - said it was the best day of her life when Matt proposed and the pair are planning to celebrate by taking their dog on a holiday to Rye in East Sussex.

She wrote on twitter: "After the best day of my life we're off to Rye for the weekend with Oscar. Road trip!"

Matt, 26, began his career on CBBC as presenter, before eventually working on various online publications before being picked up for his blog about 'The X Factor' in 2009.

He was widely tipped to replace Konnie Huq as the host of 'The Xtra Factor' but the job ended up going to Olly Murs and Caroline Flack.

He is now a regular on Channel 4, hosting T4 with Jameela Jamil and Nick Grimshaw.
