The nation’s best loved postman, Postman Pat is set for an exciting makeover to bring him firmly into the 21st Century … and beyond.
Postman Pat is set for a high impact return to TV screens on 29th September on BBC2, CBeebies zone in Postman Pat Special Delivery Service (SDS). In this brand new series, the UK’s favourite postman embarks on a series of adventures to ensure that his letters and packages are always delivered anyplace, anytime, anywhere.
In the show there is a new town (Pencaster), a new fleet of vehicles and exciting new high tech gadgets. Pencaster has a ‘state of the art’ sorting office, complete with internet access and landing pad for Postman Pat’s new helicopter.
Remaining the same loveable, trustworthy character that we all have come to love, Postman Pat has a new mission focused approach, with highly charged storylines and a diverse range of new characters. Now based in neighbouring town Pencaster, the new makeover also sees Postman Pat land a promotion as ‘The Head of Special Delivery Service’.
Postman Pat is one of the top rating pre-school shows airing on the BBC and is an established core BBC character. Postman Pat appeared at Buckingham Palace as part of the Queen’s 80th birthday celebrations summer 2006, as well as making regular appearances on Cbeebies Live.
Postman Pat® continues to enjoy international success with sales of the show reaching 158 territories. This includes key deals in the US with Postman Pat® making his US debut on qubo (NBC’s Saturday morning block) in October 2007 and CCTV in China.
