Christine Bleakley was shocked by how competitive the athletes were on 'Dancing On Ice: Going For Gold'.
The TV presenter hosts the new show which sees inspirational athletes swap their track suits for
sequins and Lycra as they take to the rink to perform in front of a live studio audience and Christine says they haven't lost their edge.
She explained on ITV1's 'Loose Women': At the end of July 'Going For Gold' will air. We've got former Olympians taking part and it was just extraordinary, it's something they've never done before but they're so competitive."
However, Christine and co-host Philip Schofield weren't allowed to get competitive on the ice for health and safety reasons.
She said: "Philip and I keep trying to get the producers to just let us have one go. We keep saying j'ust one go, just one go' but they were having none of it."
While she wasn't allowed to take to the ice, Christine keeps fit by working out with her footballer fiance Frank Lampard.
She said: He still has to keep fit so when we were away on holiday recently we went out running together, I wouldn't be anywhere near as fit as him but we'd do that or even just go for walks in the evening."
