Tom Ellis finds it "weird" being a 'Miranda' heartthrob.
The Welsh actor is overwhelmed that women are attracted to his character, chef Gary, and compares the responses from female fans as similar to those the Beatles received.
He explained: "The recordings of 'Miranda' this year have been ridiculous. One night there was a group of teenage girls in the front row wearing Miranda masks and T-shirts.
"During a break, the warm-up guy called me over because one of them wanted me to sign her T-shirt.
"As I went over, she started quivering and crying. It was like a Beatles concert. It's weird."
Tom, 32, also revealed that the new series of the popular sit-com by Miranda Hart is a lot more "grown-up" since it's debut in 2009 and fans can expect to see a lot more romance between the clumsy shop owner and her crush.
He said: "I saw an episode of series one the other day and it feels like a different show now. It's really grown. We laughed the entire time during filming.
"People enjoy the characters and it's very funny but the audience really like the Miranda and Gary story. We're exploring the boundaries of what we can do within that relationship in the new series."
It was announced last month that 'Miranda' is to be turned into a film as the third series will reach a climax this Christmas with a cliffhanger ending leading the way towards a movie storyline.
