Bryan Fuller and Michael Green have been working on the show for some time now and whilst its small screen debut is right around the corner, those attending SXSW 2017 will be able to get a first-look glimpse at the first episode of the series.

Ricky Whittle stars as protagonist Shadow Moon in the show, alongside Ian McShane as his companion Mr. Wednesday. David Slade has directed the first episode, but Gaiman is still heavily involved in the goings on of the series, sharing pictures of himself on the set in the middle of 2016.

SXSW festival runs from March 10-19 this year, with the television and film portion of the festival traditionally running in the first week. This is when we should expect to start hearing the first thoughts about American Gods from those in attendance.

American Gods premieres in the US on Starz in April and comes to Amazon Prime Instant Video in the UK soon after.
