The 40-year-old star and his presenting partner Declan Donnelly were so impressed by singer Jasmine Elcock's rendition of Cher's 'Believe', they pressed their Golden Buzzer to send her straight through to the talent contest's live semi-finals.

Ant said afterwards: "I was in tears back there!"

Dec added: "You deserved it."

And Jasmine - who previously appeared in 'Annie' on London's West End - also had judge Alesha Dixon crying so hard, she had to borrow a tissue from fellow panellist Amanda Holden, while show chief Simon Cowell was thrilled with her performance.

He told her: "I was at one point losing the will to live, thinking maybe all the talent has gone, and now you come, a little thing with such a great voice, so charming, and let me tell you - I think this country's going to totally fall in love with you."

After overcoming her tears, Alesha added: "For so many reasons that audition moved me so much. I've never been this much of a mess on the show.

"Oh my goodness, I hope all your dreams come true. You deserve it, you really do."

Jasmine joins fellow Golden Buzzer winners Beau Dermott, 100 Voices of Gospel and Ian and Anne Marshall in getting straight through to the semi-finals.

Simon still has to choose his Golden Buzzer act.
