Expected to make its debut on Netflix before the end of the year, Black Mirror will be making its return for a fourth season, and now the streaming service has debuted a pair of extremely different first look pictures, hinting at what we may be able to expect from two of the new episodes. Black Mirror season 4: 'USS Callister'
The images were taken from a pair of episodes titled ‘Arkangel’ and ‘USS Callister’.
‘Arkangel’ is the episode directed by Jodie Foster, with creator Charlie Brooker responsible for the writing. Rosemarie Dewitt, Brenna Harding and Owen Teague will all star.
‘USS Callister’ meanwhile stars Jesse Plemons, Cristin Milioti, Jimmi Simpson and Michaela Coel, with Toby Haynes in the director’s chair and Charlie Brooker co-writing with William Bridges.
Throughout three seasons to-date, Black Mirror has delved into a variety of different topics as an anthology series that is unafraid to approach usually taboo situations, instead throwing them in the faces of those watching and cutting extremely close to the bone.
With the majority of episodes, viewers are left with moral dilemmas and unsettling conclusions, as the 21st Century existence they’re a part of is reflected right back at them.
