The youngster smashed his half-sister over the head with her jewellery box when he was just 11 years old, in a shocking storyline that aired in February 2015 and finally confessed to the crime last week.

And now it has been revealed that he will be charged and will face trial for the crime which his father Ian and stepmother Jane tried to cover up.

Bobby will appear in court next week after being officially charged and it is unclear if he will be bailed while he awaits trial.

The shocking murder mystery kept 'EastEnders' viewers gripped until a flashback episode revealed Bobby as the killer.

In scenes, which showed Lucy's entire journey on the night she died along with all of the possible suspects, it eventually became clear that her little sibling had ended her life following a row at their home in Albert Square.

Viewers saw Jane receive a disturbing phonecall from a mysterious someone and she then rushed over to the property to discover Lucy dead on the floor and Bobby clutching the solid wood jewellery box in his hand.

He said to Jane, who adopted him a few years ago, with an evil look in his eye: "Whatever she says, she started it. She made everyone unhappy."
