Presiding over the series when it returns to screens, the show hasn't been seen on UK television since its original airing back in 2005 and 2006.

Aiming to pair up celebrities and send them off with nothing but love, this time round it will be members of the public who try to find their better half.

Flack is flying out to the show's exotic location to keep a tab on what goes on on the island, and is to speak to group members one by one as they're voted off by the public.

Speaking about her new role, she explained: "I can't wait to host the revamped Love Island. I was a massive fan of the original show, and I'm sure this is going to be one crazy, love-fuelled island.

"I can't really think of a better way to spend a summer - here's hoping it's a scorcher!"

Meanwhile, it appeared recently that Olly Murs has apparently confirmed he would be hosting The X Factor - a job he's rumoured to co-exist in with former Xtra factor co-host Caroline.

It's not yet known whether or not Caroline's new job on Love Island will cause a scheduling clash.
