The 'Coronation Street' star was introduced to the unusual type of meditation by a friend and whilst she's not sure what mental improvements it can bring, she quipped it was "good for your pelvic floor if nothing else".

She said: "My friend was telling me about this new group she attended and it was a special kind of meditation and it's a group of women, you all put your heads together in a circle so your legs facing outwards. You raise your legs up, little bit like if you were going to see a gynaecologist and you insert these into your lady area. It's vaginal meditation apparently ... You're being at one with your cervix ... It's good for your pelvic floor if nothing else."

And the 34-year-old actress - who has three-year-old son Alfie with her husband Tom - is a "big fan" of meditation and tries to set aside some time in each day for it, even if it's just five minutes.

Speaking as a guest panellist on ITV's Loose Women on Thursday (22.03.18), she said: "I'm a big fan of meditation even if it's just 10 minutes on my lunch break. I think it's really easy to say I don't have time for that but even just five minutes. Just switch your phone off for five minutes, I find that really helpful. I did hypnobirthing when I was pregnant with Alfie, which centres around meditation and that opened up a whole new world for me. I'm a different person."

Meanwhile, Catherine previously revealed she "made a promise" to herself to meditate every day for a year.

She shared: "Now I'm older and wiser - I work from the inside out, starting with nutrition. But sleep and relaxation is something I'm not very good at. I made a promise to myself this year to meditate each day, even if only for 5-10 mins. I started this book last week and what a gift it has been. (sic)."
