Emmerdale's Laurel Thomas confronts her carjacker.

The innocent scatterbrain - played by (Charlotte Bellamy) - finds herself in deadly danger when she comes face-to-face with her vicious attacker - a man named Ross - after she goes on a wild goose hunt to track him down, carrying nothing but a pair of scissors on her.

Meanwhile, Laurel's boyfriend Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) has joined forces with his street-wise cousin Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) in a bid to find the blonde beauty after discovering she hadn't turned up for work that day.

Mark said: "Marlon becomes more and more hysterical as the day goes on. He realises Laurel is on her own, and that she's in danger. But they know nothing about the carjacker - he could be a murderer for all they know. Marlow feels utter desperation and blind terror as he and Cain try to find her."

However, as Marlon and Cain are racing to Laurel's rescue, Ross is backing the frightened mother-of-two into a corner and when she drops the scissors out of sheer panic, her fate lies in his hands.

While the drama on the Dales is unfolding, Mark admits he's had great fun shooting scenes with Jeff and is eager to work with him in some more scenes.

Speaking to Inside Soap magazine, Mark explained: "Jeff and I don't get to work together much, so it was really nice acting out this storyline. I think it'll be nice for the audience, too, because you sometimes forget Cain and Marlon are cousins.

"There are a few funny moments between them in the midst of the drama, so I hope we get to more of it. Jeff's my friend and we had a real laugh."
