Chris Evans has blasted Simon Cowell as "weird and nervous".

The 'Top Gear' presenter took to Twitter to praise his friend Nick Grimshaw on 'The X Factor' but slammed his co-star Simon.

Chris wrote: "Haven't seen X factor forever. Have to say, after a brief glimpse, Grimmy looks like the new man in the know and Simon looks weird & nervous (sic)."

Chris was reported to be upset with Simon for poaching Nick for 'X Factor' when he wanted him to host some episodes of the relaunched 'TFI Friday'.

Nick previously said: "He just mentioned it to me and asked me if I wanted to do it and I would but I think he makes the show and that's why it's good.

"But I love him and I want to go on it every week. It's so silly, it's what made me want to do TV."

Meanwhile, Sunday's (08.11.15) episode of 'The X Factor' was tough for Nick as he saw two of his acts, Seann Miley Moore and Mason Noise, battle it out in the sing-off.

Nick took it to deadlock letting the public vote to decide who would survive another week on the talent show as he couldn't choose between the two.

After Seann was voted off, he said: "It's been an incredible journey but the show must go on."

And Nick added whilst close to tears: "I can't believe they were both in the bottom two tonight and I can't believe Seann's going. I just can't believe it."
