Tom, Chris' brother, has claimed that contrary to how his sibling has been portrayed on the ITV show, he is actually "a bit of a mummy's boy".

Tom explained: "He's not a player at all! Real life is a bit different. There's five boys and we're a tight family. Chris is a bit of a mummy's boy.

"He's coming across a player because of the situation."

Tom also revealed he intends to tease his brother about his on-screen antics, which have led to accusations of arrogance.

Speaking to Heat magazine, Tom said: "He knows he's good looking. Everyone think that's arrogance but it's funny. Everything he says is tongue in cheek. They've tried to make him the pantomime villain."

Tom also rubbished the suggestion that his brother is seeking real-life love while on the island.

He confessed: "I personally don't think he is looking for a wife on there."

By contrast, Chris has previously claimed he is interested in finding a girlfriend on the show.

The hunky star also admitted he enjoys making romantic gestures when he's in a relationship.

He shared: "My friends would say I fall in love straightaway. If I thought she was right I go all guns blazing. If I like a girl in the villa, it could get serious quickly. I like to treat a girl and I'm quite an old-fashioned romantic.

"I write letters and leave them hidden for girls to find. I love surprises and I like treating people and making them feel special. The last relationship I was in I was forever going to theatre shows and long weekends away."
