Craig Revel Horwood slams dance show 'Stepping Out'.

The 'Strictly Come Dancing' judge reckons ITV's new Saturday night show is a disaster and thinks it doesn't compare to BBC One's dance contest which has professional dancers teaching their celebrity counterparts the routine.

He said: "It's a car crash waiting to happen. You have two novices on 'Stepping Out', so it's basically the blind leading the blind. The results could be terrible."

Craig thinks the dancers on 'Strictly' - which he judges alongside Len Goodman and Darcey Bussell - have as difficult a job as anyone else because they need to learn the routine impeccably and cannot rely solely on their instructor to perform on the night.

He explained: "On 'Strictly', you do have professional dancers to teach you but they can't just drag you around -- the male celebrities have to lead and the women follow.

"Any show that promotes dance is a good thing but it will be interesting to see how well their dancing on 'Stepping Out' turns out."

Craig is looking forward to the new season, which kicks off on Saturday (07.09.13) and thinks it could be the better than last year's contest.

He told The Sun newspaper: "I'm really looking forward to the show -- I always do. Last year was brilliant and I think this year could potentially be even better."
