The 'Strictly Come Dancing' judge - who split from his partner Damon Scott after three years together in May this year - has admitted he feels ready for a relationship again even with a member of the opposite sex.

When asked during an appearance on 'Loose Women' on Thursday (29.06.16) if he would consider being heterosexual, the 'Strictly Come Dancing' host said: "I'm not going to put myself out of any sort of department!"

But when it was suggested he should hook up with the chat shows panellist and fellow singleton Janet Street Porter, he quipped: "We'd make a fantastic couple.

"Imagine the home life. I'd be doing all the vacuuming and cooking."

The acid-tongued dance critique has admitted he is desperate to find someone who is "genuine" and "honest" after his former partner accused the 51-year-old of battling with a drinking problem.

Craig said: "[I'd like someone] that doesn't sell stories, kiss and tells and all that sort of stuff. There's nothing you can do about it.

"There's a side to everybody's story and everyone's broken relationship but I tend to not go and spout them all off."

Meanwhile, Craig revealed he thinks the former Eternal band member, Louise Redknapp, could win the coveted Glitterball trophy.

He said: "The front-runners are Louise Redknapp - taking one look at her I thought she was safe and confident. Danny Mac is spectacular, but has he blown it too early? The people get those results in week one generally plain out and remain the same.

"Had he had slipped over and broken his leg maybe he would have got a few more votes."

The professional ballroom dancer also thinks Ed Balls is a hot contender.

He added: "He [Ed] has the gift of the gab he is a politician, he is able to drum up the support of the public, I mean look at Ann Widdecombe, she couldn't dance a step darling until week 11. I ended up in panto with her. I danced the charleston with her 42 times, I was in traction for five months, it was a wonderful relationship."
