Although Danny recently told fans he was considering leaving the show to focus on other projects, his spokesperson has revealed that Danny has signed a new deal to continue playing pub landlord Mick Carter.

The spokesperson told MailOnline: "The deal is agreed - he is staying at 'EastEnders'."

The confirmation comes after Danny was recently caught on camera telling fans he was unsure about his future in the show.

In footage obtained by The Sun, he said: "This takes up my life this does. I ain't signed yet. I'm meant to sign in October but I might elbow it."

When asked by fans when he was releasing another movie, Danny replied: "F***ing tell me about it."

Earlier this year, Danny took time off from the BBC soap as he was "exhausted" from working non-stop since joining the show in 2013.

An insider said at the time: "Danny knows he has to rest-up and recuperate. He has been ground down by the workload on 'EastEnders' and then partying on top of it.

"This trip is going to do him the world of good. He can remain anonymous there and he can properly rest. He's hoping to come back refreshed and back into work."

And, his co-stars reportedly threw him a welcome home party when he returned to work.

A source said: "They're keen to show everyone is behind him 100 per cent after his tough few months. They're planning a round of applause when he steps back behind the bar for filming for the first time.

"The cast know how important Danny is to the show's success and don't want it to be awkward. Danny will be welcomed back with open arms."
