Dave Myers has become the sixth celebrity to be voted off 'Strictly Come Dancing'.

The Hairy Bikers chef faced off against actor Mark Benton in the bottom two during tonight's live results show (10.11.13), but the judges opted to save the 'Waterloo Road' star instead.

Asked by co-host Tess Daly to sum up his time on the show, Dave said: "I've had the time of my life Tess, I mean I've met some wonderful friends. I would like to thank everyone at 'Strictly', including all of the professional dancers who've embraced us lot.

"The wonderful thing about 'Strictly', it's democratic, the public have a say, the professionals have a say and everybody looks out for everybody else. I've loved every minute."

Dave performed a tango to 'I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)' by The Proclaimers, but only head judge Len Goodman opted to save him, while Craig Revel Horwood, Darcey Bussell and Bruno Tonioli each chose to save Mark based on the strength of his rumba to 'Goldfinger' by Shirley Bassey.

The loveable cook was particularly disappointed to be axed from the competition at this stage since the BBC One show's contestants will be dancing in the iconic Blackpool Tower next week.

His dance partner Karen Hauer praised the star for his commitment and hard work.

She enthused: "Ah Dave, I love you. You've given everything and I thank you for that because every day you've given 100% - I love you."
