'Doctor Who' fans are being urged to get creative and produce their own digital stories.

As series nine of the BBC show approaches, audiences are being asked to invent ideas on how the Doctor, played by Peter Capaldi, can fight off his well-known enemies, such as the Daleks and Missy, or have him tackle their own alien inventions.

Fans can use clips and pictures supplied by the team at 'Doctor Who' as well as videos, which can be used alongside footage shot specially on their phone, tablet or camera.

And despite the plot of series nine remaining a secret still, 'how to' guides will help budding producers develop and perfect their creative flair.

For the best entries, the winners will be invited along to the show's set where they will have a chance to meet the Time Lord as well as encounter the Daleks and take a step aboard the TARDIS.

Doctor Who Mission Dalek is part of the Make it Digital season, a UK-wide initiative which hopes to inspire a new generation to try their hand at coding, programming and digital technology.
