The project titled 'Christmas At Downton Abbey' has been backed by music label Rhino, and is to feature vocals from Elizabeth McGovern who plays Cora Crawley, Countess of Grantham.

It's still uncertain however if any of the series' other stars are to join her in the recording studio.

They have in the past released an album which featured classical music from composer John Lunn, but this will be the first LP to feature vocals from castmembers.

Downton Abbey continues this Sunday on ITV.
