The Minute Mart employee, who is played by Rakhee Thakrar, is set to discover her unborn baby has died and the 31-year-old actress has revealed her character will blame herself for the devastating death.

The 31-year-old actress shared: "The news absolutely floors Shabnam. The guilt settles in hard and fast. It was her body, and even thought it isn't her fault, Shabnam blames herself.

"There's also a lot of anger. Her world has stopped yet people are still smiling, going to work, carrying on with their lives, and she wants to scream at them all to stop. The sadness is unbearable - all she wants to do is hold her baby."

Shabnam - who previously had a daughter after a one night stand with Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo) but gave her up for adoption - and her fiancee Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami) will then be told that she has to give birth to the lifeless body.

Rakhee added: "Filming those scenes was incredibly emotional, but everyone on set was so sensitive and supportive to one another.

"The atmosphere in the studio was very focused, and there was a wonderful midwife on hand to assure that the contractions and labour scenes were handled in the correct manner."

And the soap star has admitted the heartbreaking storyline could mean the end of Shabnam and Kush's releationship.

She told Inside Soap magazine: Shabnam has a habit of shutting everyone out. It's inevitably going to cause problems with Kush - I really hope they can get through this..."
