Earlier this year, Ed Sheeran and Game of Thrones bosses confirmed that the singer/songwriter would be making an appearance in the show’s upcoming seventh season. Though not much has been said since the announcement, Sheeran has now opened up about his role.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, he teased: “I haven’t seen it yet. I just know the scene I did with Maisie [Williams], and it’s decent. I like it. Nothing exciting happens in this scene, we just have a conversation and that’s kind of it.”
Whilst we know Sheeran will be bringing his vocal talent to the show, it doesn’t sound like they’ll provide the soundtrack for one of the series’ most memorable moments, which is indeed a shame.
Still, his appearance should be enough to send his fans wild no matter in which capacity he stars.
“People will just be like, ‘Oh… Oh, all right.’ It’s not an integral part of it, at all. I’m just, like, in it.”
Sounds fantastic!
Game of Thrones returns to screens on July 16 in the US on HBO and on July 17 on Sky Atlantic in the UK.
