Edwina Currie hoped to "enlighten" the viewing public on I'm A Celebrity with her sexual anecdotes.

She's glad she talked of losing her virginity on the reality show because it could encourage others to be more open about their sex life.

Speaking to The Sun newspaper she explained: "We were all talking about losing our virginity. It was so long ago anyway. I don't mind talking about what happened half a century ago.

"If it enlightens other people and gets them to a state of maturity and sexual awareness, I'm happy.

"It may be a taboo subject for young people. When you get to a certain age, you talk about it all the time. It's one of the issues of the WI [Women's Institute]."

Coming fourth on the show, she laughed of rumours she'd given sex tips to fellow campmate Nadia Forde.

"I probably just said, 'Enjoy it while you can, love!"

She did however have some advice for second place runner-up Jake Quickenden, saying he should "be careful" following the near-victory, as he'll be "overwhelmed by invitations" from ladies.

Last night saw Carl 'Foggy' Fogarty take home the King of the Jungle title, with Melanie Sykes placing in third.
