5 After Midnight's Kieran Alleyne has split from his girlfriend Sophie Johnson weeks before she is due to give birth.
The former 'X Factor' star - whose group made it to the show's semi-final stage in 2016 - has ended his 16-month relationship with Sophie, but still intends to support her and their newborn son.
He shared: "No matter what our relationship status may be, I still consider Sophie to be my best friend.
"I know she will be the most amazing mother to our son. I'm looking forward to us starting a new chapter together as great friends and committed parents to our baby boy.
"We are both incredibly excited to welcome him into the world together."
Sophie's pregnancy was one of the main sub-plots to last year's 'X Factor' series and while 5 After Midnight are on the verge of releasing their debut single, Kieran won't allow his burgeoning pop career to distract him from his responsibilities as a parent.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Kieran will still be at the birth and all his fans and friends know how important that is to him.
"He is also committed to supporting both Sophie and their son going forward."
Although 5 After Midnight failed to win 'The X Factor', the popular trio of Kieran, Nathan Lewis and Jordan Lee did enough to convince music mogul Simon Cowell that they were worthy of a record deal.
Simon reportedly feels the group could eventually become global stars, filling a void that currently exists in the market.
A source previously said: "Simon has been a big fan of 5AM throughout the series.
"Out of all the artists he thinks 5AM have the biggest gap in the market. There are very few boybands around at the moment and even fewer urban boybands who dance."
