It's been revealed that both Bran and Hodor won't be making an appearance in the forthcoming fifth season of Game Of Thrones.

Actor Kristian Nairn who plays Hodor on the show spoke with the Australian Broadcasting Commission and stated that he and Isaac Hempstead-Wright - Bran - have a year away from the show.

"We have a season off and we have a year's hiatus, solely because I imagine our storyline is up to the end of the books."

The news will come as a blow to fans who wanted to see just where the magical story arc the pair have been going down will end up next, but as this thread is put on pause we'll be introduced to a whole host of new faces, characters and locations.

Viewers will travel to Dorne to meet some of the Martell family, and show bosses have scouted out locations in Spain for filming.

Game Of Thrones returns to screens in 2015.
