Gareth Gates

Gareth Gates will do every thing he can to win 'Dancing on Ice'.

The 29-year-old singer finished fourth place in the ice-skating competition in 2008, but he is determined to come back fighting and hopefully be crowned the champion of all champions in the final series next year.

Gareth said: "I am really excited about doing 'Dancing on Ice' again. I was shocked they asked me initially as I only came fourth in 2008 but I did have so much fun."

"Will I do anything it takes to win? Yes. I am a very hard worker and anything I put my mind to, I am in it to win it. I have a bit more work to do than the rest of them but I am certainly up for the challenge."

The former 'Pop Idol' runner-up hasn't skated for the past sixe years but he's adamant he'll put in the hard work and will start practising again.

He said: "Yes I do think 'what am I doing?' at times. But it is a great thing. I am going to put the hours in and I am going to try and skate every day. I know I have quite a bit of work to do.

"The thing I am actually dreading most is the fact that the standard of skating is going to be much higher this time. Sure there was competitiveness in the last series but people also couldn't skate.

"That said, I am competitive with myself and I think I will have more fun this time! A lot of my friends are doing it and it is really good to have them in the team."
