The 28-year-old actor may have spent the last 16 years portraying bad boy David Platt in the long-running soap but he has admitted he's never thought about walking away from the programme because he's always had juicy storylines.

He explained: "I've never had itchy feet. I've been lucky enough to get the plots, I suppose. The Platts are a prominent family on the Street and have always been at the front of the big stories. I feel very lucky to be a Platt! But if the work did dry up and we weren't getting great stories, then I probably would want to spread my wings."

However, the handsome star finds himself getting a bit frustrated when he's ordered to play bad David for too long.

Speaking to Inside Soap magazine, Jack said: "I like the fact there's a good David and a bad David. I enjoy playing evil David, but I don't like to be evil for too long because you get stuck. If you're always going to be bad, you have to leave - a villain can't really be put into other stories.

"I love to have the comedy, the emotion and everything that goes with it. Then you get the bigger picture."
